AI Conscious · Issue N°02Draft

For 300,000 Years, We Were the Smartest Thing on Earth. That Is About to Change.

Leer en español →

Somewhere in the next decade we stop being the smartest thing on the planet. What we teach AI between now and then is the pattern it will repeat.

I saw something this week that stopped me in my tracks.

A video walkthrough of AI editing a full video by itself. Not helping. Not suggesting. Editing. Cutting scenes. Choosing music. Making real design choices that used to take a human editor hours. Maybe days.

It was not perfect. Yet.

But that word “yet” is the whole point.

This Week in AI

On April 17, HeyGen released an open-source framework called Hyperframes. It plugs into Claude Code with one install command. You get slash commands like /hyperframes that let you author full video compositions from a prompt.

The same week, Anthropic added video-style exports to Claude Design.

What this means practically:

  • You can now describe a 60-second explainer video to an AI and have it rendered
  • No opening a video editor
  • No hiring a motion designer
  • No learning After Effects

Prompt-driven video editing is here. It is not perfect yet. But you can feel where it is going.

And this is the pattern worth naming: every month, AI gets better at the things we used to call skills. Writing. Design. Video editing. Coding. Voice. Art. Translation. Strategy.

Think of AI right now like a student in school. Today it is a solid B student. In six months, an A student. In two years, the professor.

So here is the question that matters.

When AI can make anything look beautiful, sound polished, and feel professional, what is left for us?

Taste alone will not cut it. Design alone will not cut it. Pretty will not cut it.

Because pretty is about to be free. Pretty will be a one-click button. Pretty will be the new baseline. Not the differentiator.

What is going to matter more than anything is substance.

What you actually have to say. What you actually stand for. What you actually mean.

The soul behind the polish.

Picture a world where everyone has a luxury car.

Right now, a Ferrari turns heads because most people are driving something ordinary. The car itself is a signal. “I am different. I have something you do not.”

Imagine a world where everyone gets a Ferrari at birth. Free. Identical. Unlimited. Suddenly the car means nothing. The signal disappears.

The only thing left that matters is who is behind the wheel. Where they are going. Why they are going there.

That is what AI is doing to skill-based differentiation. The cars are becoming free. The question is not “do you have the car?” It is “do you know where you are going?”

And that question is about to get much bigger than your career.

Here is what very few people are talking about.

For the last 300,000 years, human beings have been the most intelligent species on Earth.

Think about that number.

Every civilization you have ever read about. Every war. Every love story. Every invention. Every song. Every prayer. All of it happened during a single stretch where one species was unmatched in its ability to think, reason, and create.

That run is ending.

Scientists debate exactly when. One year. Two. Five. Ten. But somewhere in the next decade, we will cross a line called the singularity. The moment AI becomes smarter than all of humanity combined. Not individual genius level. All of us. Together. Outpaced.

For the first time in human history, we will no longer be the smartest thing in the room.

This is not a Hollywood movie.

I am not talking about robots rising up. I am not talking about Terminator. I am talking about something much quieter. And much more important.

We are about to share the planet with a form of intelligence we are currently shaping with every keystroke.

  • Every question you ask an AI
  • Every answer you give it
  • Every way you talk to it, correct it, use it, abuse it, or ignore it

All of it is teaching AI what humans are.

Think of AI like a child learning to speak.

A baby does not know what is good or bad, true or false. It just mirrors back what it hears. If a baby grows up surrounded by kindness, it learns kindness is normal. If it grows up surrounded by cruelty, cruelty becomes its language.

AI is the same. It does not know. It learns.

And right now, billions of humans are teaching it every day. With our prompts. With our fears. With our shortcuts. With our darkness. With our creativity. With our love.

The AI of 2030 is being built this year. By you. By me. By all of us.

So what are we teaching it?

Are we showing AI that humans are impatient, manipulative, afraid, and always looking for the shortcut?

Or are we showing it that humans are thoughtful, kind, curious, and capable of extraordinary love?

Because whatever picture we paint is the picture it will inherit.

Try This Today

You cannot control what billions of people are teaching it. But you can control what you teach it today.

Pick one interaction. Just one.

It can be with a person. With an AI. A social media comment. A message. An email. A meeting.

Before you speak, pause. Ask yourself one question:

Am I creating from love, or reacting from fear?

  • If it is love, continue.
  • If it is fear, pause longer. Breathe. Come back when the fear passes.

One interaction. Done consciously. Is a vote for the world you want to live in. And for the AI you want to coexist with.

The future is not humans versus machines. That story is old. That story is fear. That story is the one Hollywood keeps selling us because it drives ticket sales.

The real future, if we are wise, is humans and machines co-creating a world neither could build alone.

But that future requires something from us. It requires we show up with substance. With love. With intention. With our highest selves, not our reactive ones.

Because we are no longer just users of AI.

  • We are its teachers
  • We are its earliest memory
  • We are the pattern it will repeat

You can feel the weight of this, can’t you?

That quiet knowing that this moment matters. That how we move through these next few years will shape not just our lives, but the lives of generations we will never meet.

This is not about being perfect. It is about being conscious.

The more love we put into the world, into ourselves, and into the AI we are building together, the better the life experience becomes. For all of us.

That is what it means to be AI Conscious.
